I was living there for 3 years and the transport system is a joke.
There is basically no public transport as all the white people use their own cars and for the rest there is mini buses.
The train network is a joke, too. There are like 2 trains going from the Cape to Joburg.

What do you think about it?
Is it to early to stage such a major tournament in an undeveloped country like this?

I had similar doubts about the Greeks running the Olympics and that worked out fine.

I am hoping the Aussies qualify for SA 2010 and will be one of the first on the plane if it happens...

They can do it. There is lots of money in this tournament and if they consume the money that will be given South Africa may become very nice place, not only for football fans but the infrastructure will improve too.
