Post subject: Let the Games Begin!!
As part of my promise to the kids I'm gonna keep a world cup diary which starts today for me. We're (my mates and I) not actually arriving at the site until Monday 12th, but with match tickets in hand and Sat Nav ready to programme, I've suddenly realised I'm off the the F***king WORLD CUP!! The buzz around where I live is awesome and I look forward to meeting some great characters and future friends.
COME ON ENGLAND.

ok folks here's the update. He said the scenery from the train reminded him of holland. The campsite is at least as hilly as Cornwall, the bungalow cabin things and the caravans look ok. At the moment the site is chaotic due to the many people arriving at the same time and Berni still trying to set things up properly, the big screen isn't working yet and neither is the beer tent although beer is availible in the restaurant bar.

Berni supplied one coach for people with tickets which took them direct to the stadium and others which took those without right into the city to the fanfest area. Screen got sorted in the end and he has been watching it today. If you pm me I will give you more details on other stuff you might find interesting [smilie=rulez.gif]

Apparently the lower part of the site is quiet packed but the top end is much quieter so he has retreated up the hill. The caravans and hut things look good but the tents supplied by Berni are only festival type so no good if you get rained on.

 Post subject: Update....
I heard that on the first day, a friend of ours is there already and he said it was a nightmare. Only Bernie organising everything. The cocaches to the games was a mini bus and there was no big screen, no electrcity, no showers, food or drink.
We like many others panicked. We arrive this Saturday.
I have since spoken to the campsite and they have assured me that although they had teething problems, they now have the screen working, food and electricty/showers etc.
I suppose its turn up and see!!!
