Yes that definitely is a big difference! Through the fields it is! As long as there are no snakes or creepy crawlies :(

Yes, it does seem that the ratio is slightly tipped in my favour
How far is Amsterdam from the Germany? I mean in terms of catching a train or whatever? I would love to visit during the time that I'm in Germany as I've never been.
I'm so excited about going - if the people on this forum are an indication of what everyone will be like then I think we're all going to have the time of our lives! Likeminded people n all that
Tw - we are arrive in frankfurt on the 7th and stay two nights before heading out to the campsite on the 9th. Why don't we arrange to meet in Frankfurt somewhere and we'll go out to the campsite together? Anyway, we can sort details closer to the date.
How many days to go??

Beckyboo, train details from Bad Hersfeld to Amsterdam fyi
Between 5 and 6 hours depending on connections. Well worth it if you like that sort of social activity that is legal there and not many other places...

No probs, remember as they say in the sporting world what goes on , on tour, stays on tour. Unless your mates have digital cameras, then it goes on the internet :D

Hey all once again
Becky sounds like a plan stan , we will swap numbers and all getting closer to the date, that would be great to all travel to the campsite together , keep us with the heads up hun. Also i am heading to amsterdam for 4days after the first game from the 14th till the 17th, catching a train from frankfurt it is only costing $256 AUD return in the second class so if ya planning on scooting over let me know i no of some good accomadation smack bang in the middle of city 90 EUR a night it has been all comfirmed B & B.
Poveman : How ya doing champ ? We will certainly have to catch up man. Can you catch a train from Bad Helsfield to Amsterdam ?? Wasnt aware. Keep in touch guys. Tw. The Aussie Trooper.

Hey , I thought I'd say hello to all the aussies (and everyone else) going to the world cup.
I'm flying out from Canberra and also heading over to the world cup !! Can't wait ... anywayz, I don't think I'll be staying at the camp grounds but if you lot are catching up at a pub some time couint me in :-) .
Also I have a question .... I found this site selling special WC2006 train tickets, but since I haven't ever travelled in Germany via train I do not know if they are worth it ..... does anyone with some experience know ?? This is the link: http://www.bahn.de/-S:PtVOSN:dH2KZ9NNV,Y4S9NNNQlM/p/view/home/wm2006/eng_uebersicht.shtml

stillwater, the train tix depends on how long you are around for and how far you are going .
At 349 Euro for the whole month of the tournament i would say if you are there for the long haul definitely worth it,
Indiviual trips for around 2 hours cost between 30-80 euro one way so i guess you could do the maths if you have an itinerary
http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en?newrequest=yes&protocol=http:&
This link will let you price the journeys you plan separately
good luck ,
I am staying at the campsite and will be using the coach transfers to the 3 aussie games

Good to see so many Aussies making the trip.
I'm coming up with 3 mates and looking forward to plenty of football and beer :D
We are staying in a tent and getting coach transfers to all 3 Aussie games plus a round of 16 (let's hope the aussies make it there)
