How the hell are people going to get into the stdiums if you buy of other people, it is basically the same as me giving u my airplane tickets and u expecting to board the aircraft and no questions asked... it is that strict.. Thats the words i have just been told!!

Looks like we have to have them directly to our names!! :(

So they're going to check 60,000 passports at the turnstiles? Dont think so mate!

If you read the details on fifa it tells you there are no names on the tickets all the info is held in a chip on the ticket and they would have to scan them as well as check passports...not very likely. When they tried checking every ticket at Eindoven the fences got pushed over.

Are you sure the tickets aren't like the one's at Man Citeh's new ground whereby the ticket is a card and you wipe the card over a sensor to get in. This could display a passport number on a screen to the steward and they could then check it against your passport. This would be no more time consuming than the usual ticket process...

Below is an exact copy of the details on fifa;

10. Why will match tickets be personalised?
Tickets will be personalised for security reasons. This measure is intended to support the basic principle of a fair and open sales procedure. It will also serve as an effective deterrent to black market trading. However, the embedded chip will store access information only. Personal information such as names will not be stored.

Hope that helps.

roughly translated, that should mean that the only details of the owner will be printed on the ticket so can only be checked by comparing the ticket and passport - something which wouldn't be done for the vast majority of entrants.

So does anyone know for sure if EVERY SINGLE ticket is going to be scanned and at the entrance?
If so, will they just compare the number embedded in the ticket chip with the one on the passport, or is there going to be another method?

I'm asking this because my friend won't be able to attend the game for which we have the tickets for and I would like to give the ticket to my cousin. The tickets have already arrived and we're not able to transfer the ticket to my cousin anymore. So would it make any difference if my friend just lend his passport to my cousin so he could get in the stadium?

The only problem is the picture in the passport which does not resemble my cousin at all. Are they going to check the pictures too?

Any information would be very helpful.

there is a big debate about what they are going to be doing about ID checks.

some people say that they will check everybody.
which i highly doubt.
60000 people checked, its just not going to happen.

plus, the amount of fans that will have tickets given to them by family members and friends as gifts and birthday presents is going to be massive.

i really doubt that they will refuse entry to anybody.
if they do check everybody and dont let people in, they will have empty seats.
in my eyes that is something the german OC does not want to see, let alone fifa.

from what ive read, they will do ID checks at random.
i would have to say they would select for example a large group of drunk guys who are causing a problem outside the gate, or maybe if you look like a terrorist, expect to be checked NONO

they had the same stuff happen at previous world cups.
in 2002 they were meant to do security checks and the people that ive spoken to said that they never got checked even thou they had tickets under somebody elses name.

so personally i think its just a scare tactic to try and combat scalping on the black market.

enjoy yourself! fotty
